Message from the Dean

LMU School of Film and Television has earned its place among the elite entertainment arts institutions in the world. What sets us apart is our dedication to teaching media within a dynamic liberal arts tradition. We believe that the interplay between the traditions and insights of the past sheds invaluable light on the complexities of the present and guides students as they build their own futures. That is why our students study film alongside history, art, literature, philosophy, theology, and the sciences.

Dean Stephen Ujlaki

Our campus provides a supportive environment where students create and collaborate in a conservatory setting under the expert eye of our top-notch faculty and professional filmmakers. Experimentation and risk-taking are encouraged because working through mistakes is an integral part of the learning process. It’s how you discover your talent.

Our home is Los Angeles, the creative capital of the world, and our neighborhood is Silicon Beach, where tech innovation thrives. Our student body is international and inclusive, and the stories they tell are global in reach.

If you are a prospective student thinking about your future, I encourage you to explore our website, visit our beautiful campus, take a tour of our state-of-the-art facilities and speak to our staff and faculty.

There is no better time to pursue a career in the media industry – and no better place to take that first step than at LMU SFTV. We teach media eloquence in ways that produce a better world.

Stephen Ujlaki
