Later, she joined Willie Nelson's Farm Aid, where she wrote and produced TV specials on the farm crisis with Nelson, John Mellencamp, Neil Young and others. Kennedy has been shooting film and video since high school. She recalls frequently finding excuses to leave history and trigonometry class so she could escape to the high school darkroom. She has an interest in documentaries and in children's TV. Her student film, IRON LADIES, won a Student Academy Award in the documentary division, as well as the Director's Guild of America Student Filmmaker Award. Kennedy regularly shoots documentary pieces for the Discovery Channel, the Learning Channel and several internet companies. She has written and filmed segments for SESAME ST. Kennedy has a B.A. in Ethnic Studies from Michigan State University and an M.F.A. in Film Production from USC. She loves being outdoors, and looks forward to completing her next triathlon this spring.
