Mark Evan Schwartz is an award winning screenwriter with credits on over a dozen produced feature films, television shows, and TV movies. Starting out as a Production Assistant to Francis Ford Coppola, he went on to become a Story Analyst for the David Geffen Company, Story Editor for Galactic Films at MGM, and Head of Story and Development for Nelson Entertainment, international distributor of such blockbusters as When Harry Met Sally and the Best Picture Academy Award winner The Last Emperor. Turning to screenwriting, his credits include Little Men (Warner Brothers Family Entertainment), based on the classic novel by Louisa May Alcott, Star Quest (Concorde/New Horizons), produced by the legendary Roger Corman and winner of the Golden Scroll Award from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror, Stalked (Image), and Saving Emily (Lifetime). His black comedy Jackals has been optioned twice, first by Propaganda Films in Hollywood, and then by Partisan in Paris, France. His innovative book "How to Write: A Screenplay" (Continuum Int'l), first published in 2005 to critical acclaim, is in its 2nd Edition and is available at Amazon.com and at libraries and bookstores everywhere. And on DVD, he can be seen in the 15th Anniversary Special Edition of Quintin Tarantino's landmark film Reservoir Dogs (Lionsgate), providing on-camera commentary in a documentary titled Playing it Fast and Loose.
