Rob Burchfield graduated cum laude with a B.F.A. in motion picture/television-animation in 1981 from UCLA. After working several years as an animator for a laser projection multi-media firm in west LA, he quit to travel to Walden pond.

After five years of living out of a backpack he recanted his vow of poverty and returned to LA only to find that the animation industry had all but perished. Falling back on his life time passion for cartooning, he drew cartoons for the advertising and publication industry and developed a thriving free-lance clientele.

He has taught computer animation at LMU since 1994, serving as a full time visiting lecturer in 1997, when he helped to inaugurate the new animation track in the School of Film and Television.
