The LMU School of Film and Television offers a Bachelors of Arts and Master of Fine Arts major in Production designed to enable students to express their ideas on the screen – whether that screen is in a theater, at home or held in the palm of a hand. Digital technologies have created new ways of working that transcend the traditional distinctions between film and television. The SFTV Production major combines the best of both of these fields.

Students admitted to this rigorous major become quickly immersed in the art of storytelling for the screen, and learn the practical aspects of mounting a production.  While searching for their own individual voices students produce films either entirely from their imaginations or documenting the real world.  These finished works are produced and owned by the students, and many are distributed and celebrated far beyond the confines of our campus, through the exciting world of festivals, theatrical, television, and other channels of local, national and international exhibition.
