Make a film during your first week of graduate school!
Film Rush is SFTV’s popular “make a film in one day” boot camp for incoming graduate students. On the first Friday of their first semester, these students form teams to write, shoot, and edit short films on LMU’s campus, based on a prompt developed by second- and third-year graduate students. Afterward, faculty and students screen the finished films and discuss the day’s activities with an eye toward learning more about storytelling and filmmaking principles.
The day-long event begins building the close-knit, collaborative writer/director/producer relationships that fuel film and TV work during graduate school and beyond. And it’s a great opportunity for our first-year students to get to know the second- and third-year students who organize the event and serve as their mentors.
