SFTV Awards 2020 | An All-New Format

Submissions Open Through June 5

We’re reimagining the SFTV Awards for our brave new world!

This year, we’re combining the original SFTV Awards with the former Film Outside the Frame festival to engage the entire SFTV community, with submissions and voting to happen online!

And because we know that many of our hardworking SFTV students haven’t been able to finish their films this semester due to the Covid-19 outbreak,  we’ve opened up the submissions to include films made in fall 2019 as well as work made by SFTV students on their own time during the 2019-20 academic year.

The full list of awards, eligibility rules, and criteria for selecting winners are below. Review the submission guidelines for important information.

How will it work?

  • Submissions will be open from May 14 to June 5.
  • Submissions will be narrowed down to nominees by juries of SFTV alumni.
  • Nominees will be announced on July 1
  • Voting will be open to the entire SFTV community from July 1-22.
  • Winners will be announced in Fall 2020, date TBD

Submissions are now open! The 2020 SFTV Awards are proudly accepting entries on FilmFreeway, the world's #1 way to enter film festivals and creative contests. Click the button below to get started.
