Filmmaker Bio

Purandhya is an independent filmmaker from India, now based in Los Angeles. Her first short 'Smaran' (2019) won the Best Screenplay award at the 9th Kolkata International Film Festival (2020) and screened at various film festivals including Lift-off Global Network First-Time Filmmaker Sessions, the 3rd Meihodo International Youth Visual Media Festival 2020, and 17th IAWRT Asian Women’s Film Festival 2021. Her recent films, 'Sweet Savory Life' and 'Have a Good One' are centered on South Asian women and the Indian diaspora.
