Omar Luis Meléndez
Filmmaker Bio
Originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, Omar has experience in filmmaking in different roles like assistant director, associate producer and more. Graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor of Film & TV Production from California Lutheran University, Omar received many accolades for his final thesis film Ballerino which won 2nd prize at the 25th CLU Annual Film Festival. The screenplay for Ballerino written by Omar was selected top 3 in the class.
In addition, Meléndez served as the film club president for HCC Community College in Tampa, FL and traveled with the club to the prestigious Sundance Film Festival in Utah to serve as student panelist. Omar worked for production company Alliance of Light as an associate producer where he helped produced a science fiction musical drama TV Pilot titled Dream Big. Omar is currently attending his last year for his Masters in directing for film at LMU School of Film and Television.
