Filmmaker Bio

Regina Rios is a Mexican filmmaker whose work explores themes of identity, resilience, and belonging in overlooked landscapes. Her short film Where Is the Dog That Gave You Your Name won the Visiones que Nos Unen contest in Baja California Sur and received national festival recognition.

Currently completing her MFA at LMU, Regina is in post-production on her thesis film, Tal vez Te Encuentre en un Asalto. She is developing Nothing Grows Here, a feature film about two siblings looking for their dad, exploring deeper themes beyond the search. Passionate about decentralizing Mexican cinema, Regina amplifies diverse and complex narratives.
