Vijeet Chaugule
Filmmaker Bio
Vijeet Chaugule is a gender non-conforming filmmaker born in San Jose, California, by two Indian immigrant parents. Growing up in a disciplined household, Vijeet refused to conform to cultural expectations and pursued a Bachelor's degree in Film and Communications at SFSU. After a brief pause during the 2020 pandemic, they chose to pursue a master’s in film at LMU.
Their work centers on characters from abusive, oppressive environments, fighting for self-expression, sexuality and identity. Now, Vijeet eats, sleeps, and breathes film as they believe that storytelling has the power to challenge hatred and ignite hope for future generations.
